Every student must be knowing about rancho from 3 Idiots but very less must be knowing of the real rancho that is Sonam Wangchuk.

He is engineer cum scientist and this genius has built “Ice-Stupas”(Artificial Glaciers) in Ladakh his native place to address the problem of water shortage.

He is the founder of student educational and cultural movement in Ladakh, His institution uses renewable energy to operate fully, Like electricity is run by solar energy and food is cooked without using any fossil fuel.

What Made him Genius ?

He has made artificial glaciers to help store fresh water so that the problem of water shortage should be solved

He is running SECMOL , it is a traditional school where students are not being made Robots as like in many educational Institutions across the country. This has led to educational reform in his region where students are clearing competitive exams and getting more inclined to the higher education.

Sonam Wangchuk started this at small level and is now planning to expand and teach students how to earn livelihood.
